Recreation, Education, and Conservation

A new chapter is unfolding at the heart of Egypt—where heritage meets hope, and legacy transforms into leadership. The revitalization of the Giza Zoo is more than a restoration; it is a reinvention. It seeks to reimagine the zoo as a living, breathing landmark that celebrates Egypt’s natural heritage while placing it on the global stage.

Our vision is to create a world-class zoo for recreation, education, and conservation—a continued source of pride for the people of Egypt, and a world-standard attraction. The Giza Zoo will not only become a premier destination for families and tourists but also a center of excellence for wildlife care, biodiversity preservation, and environmental learning.

Built upon a rich historical foundation, the Giza Zoo has long been a symbol of Egyptian pride. Today, this transformation breathes new life into its legacy—honoring the past while boldly stepping into a future where zoos are not merely enclosures but ecosystems of knowledge, empathy, and global responsibility.

Preserving Balance of the Nature

At the heart of this transformation is a commitment to conservation. The new Giza Zoo will protect endangered species, rehabilitate wildlife, and support breeding programs that are vital for the future of biodiversity— locally and globally. It will also serve as a sanctuary for education, where young minds can connect deeply with the natural world.

Education becomes a central experience, not an afterthought. Through interactive exhibits, open habitats, and immersive storytelling, visitors will understand the delicate balance of nature—and their role in preserving it. The zoo will partner with schools, universities, and global research institutions to become a hub for lifelong learning.

Animal Welfare, Sustainable Design, and Community Engagement.

Equally important is the role of recreation. Giza Zoo will offer inviting, inclusive spaces for people to gather, relax, and reconnect with nature. Shaded walkways, lush gardens, and thoughtful amenities will provide not just a visit—but an experience. One that is joyful, reflective, and shared across generations.

Designed to international standards, the revitalized zoo will join the ranks of the world’s leading zoological parks. It will demonstrate best practices in animal welfare, sustainable design, and community engagement. And in doing so, it will elevate Egypt’s global reputation in environmental leadership.

In the end, the new Giza Zoo is more than a project to protect nature, to educate the next generation, and to offer a space of wonder and belonging for all. As it rises, the zoo will become not only a treasured landmark for Egypt, but a gift to the world—where pride, progress, and nature walk side by side.

Againts The Global Extinction Crisis

the Giza Zoo is a living tapestry of biodiversity, home to fascinating and exotic species from around the world. Whether it’s the graceful movement of a leopard, the colorful brilliance of tropical birds, or the curious gaze of bear, each encounter is designed to awaken wonder and deepen the bond between people and wildlife. These carefully curated species are chosen not only for their uniqueness but for their role in telling the story of global ecological balance — a story in which we are all participants.

Endangered and rare species take center stage in the zoo’s mission. With the global extinction crisis looming, Giza Zoo becomes a critical player in species recovery. Breeding programs, sanctuary zones, and scientific collaborations will focus on nurturing those animals whose futures are at risk. From African wild dogs to Arabian oryx, each life represents a promise: that extinction is not inevitable, and that Egypt will play a part in turning the tide.

No less important are the Egyptian species, both iconic and overlooked, that will be celebrated and protected in purpose-built environments. The Nile crocodile, the Egyptian vulture, and the elusive sand cat will return as proud symbols of the country’s natural heritage. Through education and visibility, the Giza Zoo will cultivate a renewed national pride in these native creatures and inspire action to preserve Egypt’s wild places.

Collaborations Transformation to Empowered Protecting Nature and Defend our World

Crucial to this vision is a complete redefinition of animal welfare. Gone are the cages and concrete pads of the past. In their place are expansive, enriched, and climate-responsive habitats — spaces where animals can thrive physically and mentally. Designed in collaboration with international zoological experts and landscape architects, every environment reflects a deep respect for animal needs and natural behaviors.

Beyond the visitor experience, the new Giza Zoo aims to become a recognized center of research and zoological development, reinstating its membership in the international zoological federation. Collaborations with universities, conservation groups, and veterinary institutions will fuel studies on animal health, climate resilience, behavioral science, and conservation genetics. This is a place where science grows hand- in-hand with empathy.

The Giza Zoo is a platform for public education and advocacy. Through interactive exhibits, guided programs, and storytelling, the zoo will illuminate the beauty and fragility of the planet’s ecosystems. Children and adults alike will leave not just entertained, but transformed — aware of the challenges animals face, and empowered to take part in protecting them. The new Giza Zoo is not just a place to see animals — it’s a place to understand, cherish, and defend their world — and ours.

Living Botanical Park and Global Garden

With over 1,100 plant species thoughtfully curated throughout the landscape, the Giza Zoo invites you to discover the world through its roots, leaves, and blooms. From towering tropical trees to desert succulents, every step through the grounds reveals a different region of the world — and a new chapter in the planet’s botanical heritage. This collection is not only an aesthetic wonder, but a vital gene bank of global and regional biodiversity, carefully nurtured and celebrated.

Anchoring this lush landscape are more than 4,000 trees and palms, many of them towering giants aged over 70 years. These venerable trees are living witnesses to Egypt’s evolving relationship with nature, their deep roots anchoring the zoo not just physically, but culturally and historically. Their presence creates a majestic sense of continuity — a reminder that nature, when respected and preserved, can span generations.

Among this rich canopy are multiple tree species critically endangered in Egypt, protected and propagated within the zoo’s boundaries. These include native acacias, threatened date palms, and other dryland species now rare in the wild. By creating safe and well-managed habitats for these trees, the Giza Zoo takes on an urgent and active role in Egypt’s ecological future — one that is as much about plants as it is about animals.

Botanical Journey to Enhances The Lives of Giza Zoo

The park is designed not as a backdrop, but as an interactive botanical journey, inviting visitors to engage deeply with the world of plants. Interpretive trails, shaded green tunnels, seasonal bloom zones, and plant-focused pavilions help educate visitors on the importance of plant conservation, pollinators, seed dispersal, and climate adaptation. Every plant tells a story, and the Giza Zoo gives each one a voice.

This powerful fusion of horticulture and habitat also enhances the lives of the zoo’s animal residents. Carefully selected plantings provide food, shade, shelter, and enrichment — mimicking natural environments and supporting animal well-being in ways few zoos achieve. This ecological harmony between flora and fauna makes the Giza Zoo not just beautiful, but meaningfully biodiverse.

The transformed Giza Zoo stands as a living classroom and global garden, representing species from every continent and inviting visitors to reflect on their place within the great tapestry of life. It is a place where nature is not just observed, but experienced — a botanical wonderland that educates, inspires, and reconnects people with the wild richness of the world.
